Czech President Subtly Steals A Pen

Vaclav Klaus, the President of the Czech Republic met with the Chileans with officials in Chile and was caught “stealing” a pen on camera. The Chileans have come out and said it was a gift, but that’s besides the point. The dude’s technique is oddly familiar and I can safely say that I’ve done something similar on a few occasions. In fact, I call it the 7 step snag.

Step 1: Grab object and begin to examine it to see if it meets your specifications. You must focus on the goal at hand now.

Step 2: Re-adjust yourself so that your hand with the object becomes hidden. You need to perform this step as calmly as possible so you don’t draw any unwanted attention to yourself.

Step 3: You must delay for a moment. This is crucial. Focus your attention elsewhere. Hopefully by doing this, even the experts won’t be able catch on to what you’re attempting to do.

Step 4: When the coast is clear, secretly slide the object into your pocket. Try doing this with as little movement as possible.

Step 5: Pretend you are trying to get comfortable. This will hopefully cover up the reasons for all of your previous movement.

Step 6: Clean up the crime scene. This is an important step that can’t be forgotten. By shutting the box, Klaus has made sure that the Chileans won’t notice the missing pen… until it is too late.

Step 7: Now you can finally direct your attention back to the matter on hand. Sure you may be a little lost at this point, but just smile and nod, smile and nod.
